CVEF conducts a fundraising campaign every spring called "Feed the Pig". The money collected is divided between all the schools to be used for the purchase of new library books. This is our 18th campaign. Last year we distributed over $35,000 to the Instructional Media Services Department to purchase books and related materials to be shared by all District schools.
We call it "Feed the Pig" to make it clear to the community any donation is acceptable. We provide giant piggy banks to collect anything from the smallest change to the largest bill or check. Anyone interested in supporting the campaign can donate at any school in the District or in the District Office.
Schools with the highest participation are awarded prizes for their efforts in addition to the money for their libraries. We award three elementary schools and one middle school each year. Competition for these prizes is spirited. More than one principal has promised to kiss a pig if their school wins ................and had to keep that promise.
We hope you will support the "Feed the Pig" campaign this year and help keep your school well stocked with educational books. |
